BADARINATH

 Badarinath is a Nagar panchayat in Chamoli District. It is one of the Dhams from CHAR DHAMS and it is also a part of Chota Char Dham. It is also known as "Badrikashrama". Badrinath is famous for its Badrinarayana Temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Badrinath gets its name from The Temple Badrinath and the temple of Badrinath is also scared pilgrimage for the devotes of Lord Vishnu. It is also a gateway for many mountaineering expeditions who are headed to the mountains like Neelkanth. you can also see some views from Badrinath like- Neelkanth Prabhat, Sheeshtaal (Shesh Naag lake) The view of Himalyas from Badrinath.  In winters snowfall is very often seen. Badrinath is lie between the Nar and Narayan Mountains. This temple has a religious fact behind him that this place is full of Badri bushes and Lord Vishnu also meditated here and his beloved Lord Lakshmi stood next to him to sheltering him from the sunlight and thus Lord Lakshmi turned into Badri himself and also called "BADARI VISHAL" and her Lord Nath Vishnu becomes Badrinath. This place is also considered holy in Jainism. In Jainism, Himalya is called ashtapad because of its eight different mountain range. Legend Adi Shankaracharya discovered the image of Lord BadariNarayan from a black stone of Shaligram in the Alaknanda River. The temple is approximately 15m tall with a small cupola top made with gold roof.
